Figures recorded by the airline retail software company indicate a strong upward trend in aviation activity for the first 3 months of the year

THURSDAY 4th MAY 2023 – DUBLIN, IRELAND – Datalex, a market leader in digital airline retail products and software solutions, today announces a market update on its customer trading performance for Q1 2023, at it presents its 2022 annual report and results.   New data from Datalex indicates a strong upward trend in airline activity in the first three months of 2023, with a 31% increase in aggregated booking volumes for its global customer base (excluding China) using its digital retailing software in Q1 this year compared to Q1 2022.   Data collected by Datalex in China last month shows a similarly positive picture, with the Chinese market showing a material increase in demand in the first three months of this year with March transaction volumes reaching 43% of 2019 figures. In Asia, Datalex partners with Air China and recently announced a three-year renewal with the airline. Other key Datalex customers include JetBlue, easyJet, Virgin Australia and Aer Lingus.   The market update also shares progress on Datalex’s new AI-powered pricing product which was developed in anticipation of evolving customer demand and behaviour post-Covid. The product, which was launched in May 2022 has completed two successful airline trials, with the company confident that it will drive material benefits for the airline industry.     Commenting on booking volume growth in Q1 2023, Datalex CEO Sean Corkery said: “2022 was a difficult year for the airline industry, with travel restrictions, particularly in Asia, meaning a much-anticipated recovery failed to materialise.
